Lightening fast start from Phil Roach chased by Gary Hill and others. I move up to fourth before my lungs Implode and I get out of the way to let others pass and disappear.
Notice the speed at which Steve Large (blue shirt) passes me and Gary Hill when he gets going, Rookie of the year for sure in FNSS 2007.

Jack, you're making me blush. I have thoroughly enjoyed the whole series, with the highlights being the very first race at Pitsford (I was expecting to be mid field, not 4th!) and the wooded singletrack sections at Cosford. If whoever is organising that event next year can make sure that the weather is good, and those sections are dry hardpack, and a similar course to this year then that would be great. Regards the video above, I can't see more than 22 seconds of it, so I can't see me getting going! Must work on the slow start though.

It's the best 22 seconds though - as that's how long I was in 2nd before going backwards to 6th! A really enjoyable year of FNSS again. My residual fitness from the Cape Epic at Easter just about got me through the season and with the baby in July - excuses, excuses. It really is a great series - lets hope for a bigger field next year.

Funny tried loading it again, its 2minutes worth of AVI on my PC and when loaded its only 22 secs.
might try again by converting it to windows media then uploading.

Gary theres been a true indication this year from me and you of what it takes to move up a level. We both trained like mad last year, not just riding loads but by following structured training routines and headed the field in most Friday night races.
This year we have both slipped back to our normal riding and racing locally level and been just off the leaders.

Moral of the story is if you don't put in the effort you dont get the rewards. So all you other racers who want to give it a real shot next year, have a month off then get down to some solid winter base miles ready for 2008, see you there.

Don't like the sound of this. Looks like more competition for next year. I was hoping to do really well next year what with Martin moving on, but if everyone else is going to train like mad I may have to get the old heart rate monitor out. Either that or just enjoy myself!
