by Neil for everyone

I have now gone live with my eShop.

Thanks to Jack, my domain names are:

www.247cycleshop.com or www.bikeshop.com

It is in it's infantcy, but what do you think?

Next year, I am hoping that the FNSS on line entries can be paid through this site too.

All comments welcome.

Neil

Hey don't blame me ;-)

Few comments:
-------------------------------------
If your site looks amateur, then people will think your service will be too.
In that respect you need to sort out your graphic/picture sizes
The card/paypall graphic is to low a resolution for that size, and the banner picture (good one might i add, not just cause i'm in it) is stretched causing it to look crap.

Get rick to do a logo for the shop to use on site.

I'd be inclined to emphisise on the site that the name implies its twentyfour-seven and not twofourseven, this will help if people recommend your site verbally to other people. i.e. on the link
where is 247 why not 24-7
This should not translate into confusing people about the address ad get your true idea of the name known.

I'd highly recommend removing your email name from the contact us page, internet crawler/spider software sucks these addresses of pages and then you get massive amounts of endless spam (been there and its really, really annoying) you have a contact form which you can then reply to people with then they will have your address for future contact.

Why not promote the CATS club more with its own seperate page ?

To make your site appear in google searches you need to get links to it from as many sites as possible. Add links into forum posts, get it out there on any site you can think of, have a links page to all the local clubs and swap links with race organisers in exchange for promoting events.

Hope some of this helps and good luck in a tough market

I think ur doing a great job, you know. I have created some clothing supply lines myself. Its a more cheap and cheerfull level quality including regatta and result, so if you need reasonable cheap tshirts etc@ less than £1.00 each in bulk am here (not trying to sell clothes though but get this because I'm a Screenprinter) + the likelyhood of nil stocks are slim at the moment. (fingers crossed)
Tis true I could do the billies Vector Graphic Logo but resolving this depends on you knowing what you want imagewise . My preference is all singing and dancing quality but having set out merrily with 1Gig Webspace for £10.50 myself in last three weeks dreamming of hyperhyperlinks and animated gophers I fell short with 256ram computer and no broadband I'm now going with template which is sound. Jack be correct but make it all functional and think it through. The pages are an excellent way to sell and totally necessary and one would think can simplify admin?. Thanks for ur recent order for George Halls Cycles Tees. Let me know if you want any images sharpening or corporate image ideas looking at.

Hi Jack, & Rick,

Thanks for the comments. As I built it myself and it has been a massive learing curve, afterall I am only a grease monkey.
But all comments good or bad are welcome, because I can only learn from them.
What I am doing right / wrong etc etc.
Yes, I intend to do a page for CATS & FNSS.
I will see if 24-7 is available and buy that too. That way I have all bases covered.

I am currently working on a new logo for the banner head, rather than the racing shot, but I needed to put something there other than a blank space and I an waiting on Visa to send me a new logo strip.

Now I have broadband at the shop, I can start working at it there as well, so hopefully get it looking alot better before I try to go international.

I know it's will be a tough market, but as I am trying to fill the gap to supply specialist spares, like I do on Ebay for Mavic, Campagnolo & Shimano and expand into Camelbak, ladies clothing and Childrens clothing. It is not as though I am stocking more items at the shop, I am just trying to show people what we do actually stock.
The one thing I am not really interested in, is doing a Dave Hinde or Ribble. Selling a £30 item making a profit of 30p and making customers wait up to 6 weeks until I get enough orders to buy in at such rates to keep the price that low.
I would like quality rather than quantity.

Watch this space,
Neil
